Agricultural Alhama in the kitchen

Ours is an eminently agricultural town, which gives its cuisine essential ingredients such as chickpeas; the “olla jameña” is the typical dish par excellence.

The rich and varied cuisine of Alhama draws on the pulses grown on its land (chickpeas and lentils) and on the animals that graze its fields, with a wide range of pork products as well as kid, lamb, cheeses, excellent wines and a wide variety of pastries.

Alhama, an agricultural land par excellence, produces an extraordinary extra virgin olive oil. Its fields also yield almonds, used to make exquisite almond pastries.

New quality wines from Alhama's winery are now enjoyed all over the world and carry a protected designation of origin, without forgetting the traditional “vinos del terreno” that Alhama families make by hand year after year.
